Sarnia is getting money to help prepare for climate change.
The $125,000, two-year grant from the federal government and Federation of Canadian Municipalities will be used to develop a climate change adaptation plan, the city said.
The funds will enable staff to develop a plan and provide recommendations for the city’s strategic plan, official plan, zoning bylaws, site plan approval processes and infrastructure management.
Sarnia is one of 59 small to mid-sized communities getting $6.5 million to make operational changes related to climate change.
