City gets grant for ‘Main Street’ improvements

Sarnia is getting about $93,000 from the province for Main Street Revitalization projects.

Sarnia is getting about $93,000 from the province for Main Street Revitalization projects.

The money will be used for improvements in both the downtown area and in Mitton Village, and could include façade upgrades, streetscaping and pole-mounted seasonal lighting, according to a recent staff report.

Eligible infrastructure projects include improved accessibility as well as street furniture or public art installations.

All of the work must be done by March 31, 2020.
