Published on

Sarnia’s 125 firefighters have a new contract containing a 9% pay increase over three years.

The deal, retroactive to Jan. 1 of this year, also sees some adjustments to benefits.

Cost to taxpayers is an additional $351,000 annually by the end of the contract.

The settlement also involves a three-year trial period for a 24-hour firefighting shift schedule, city hall said.
