City club hosts Southwestern junior tennis tournament

Journal Staff The Sarnia Riding Club hosted the fifth stop of the Little Caesar’s Junior Tennis Tour recently. A total of 35 juniors participated in the event, which sees players earn points at each stop towards an overall season championship.

The Sarnia Riding Club hosted the fifth stop of the Little Caesar’s Junior Tennis Tour recently.

A total of 35 juniors participated in the event, which sees players earn points at each stop towards an overall season championship.

The three remaining tour stops on the Southwestern Ontario tour are in Southampton, Kitchener and Guelph.

Following are top-six finishes for Sarnia-area competitors

CO-ED UNDER 10:

Championship: Chinmay Damani (Sarnia) defeated Shlok Shah (Sarnia) 8-1

BOYS UNDER 14:

Championship: Emmitt Robinson (Ingersoll) defeated Ryan Davies (Sarnia) 8-7

3rd Place: Elijah Brown (Petrolia) defeated Divyesh Bhargava (Sarnia) 8- 6

GIRLS UNDER 14:

Championship: Raluca Rusu (London) defeated Abby Gordon (Sarnia) 8-0

3rd Place: Divija Bhargava (Sarnia) defeated Eleanor Adams (London) 8-3

5th Place: Anna Esztegar (Sarnia) defeated Saara Bentley (Sarnia) 8-2

BOYS UNDER 18:

5th Place: Aditya Damani (Sarnia) defeated Bence Esztegar (Sarnia) 8-3
