Sarnia boxer Kaitlyn Clark is competing in Bulgaria this week.

The Canadian National Team member joined boxers from a dozen countries at the Balkan Tournament Aug. 1 - 7 in Botevgrad, Bulgaria.

“I’m confident in my preparation and ready for whatever challenge comes my way,” Clarke told The Journal last week. “I’m just ready to take the next step in my boxing and see how I compare against some of the top in the world.”

Clark is one of three women from the Canadian team at the event.

Two years ago, Clark had walked away from boxing, seemingly forever.

But after returning to the sport in 2017, the 64-kilogram fighter fought back to become the 2019 elite gold medalist at the National Championships earlier this year.
