Rookie Sebastian Smith of Sarnia, seen here running the anchor leg of the 4X200m relay, helped the University of Guelph win its second consecutive national title at the 2018 USports Track and Field Championships.

In addition to team gold, Smith, a Northern Collegiate grad, had fifth-place finishes in 60m hurdles and high jump March 8-10 in Windsor.

Another Northern alumnus, Kristy Hodgins, won gold in the women’s 4x400m relay, helping the University of Windsor women to a national bronze medal.
