The halls at 109 Durand St. will soon be filled with happy teenage girls choosing their special prom or graduation dresses for free.

It’s the sixth annual Prom Dress Boutique, a two-day event hosted by the Cinderella Story of Sarnia-Lambton.

This year the volunteers with the Cinderella Story have collected more than 900 new and nearly new dresses in all kinds of styles, colours and sizes.

Anyone who is facing financial hardship is welcome to register for the boutique, held Friday, April 10 from 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 11 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Last year, 77 young women from Grades 8 and 12 were outfitted with a dress and some accessories. There’s even a seamstress at the event to make alterations.

While pre-registration (at is not mandatory, it is recommended and will cut down on wait time.

Pre-registrants are also entered into a draw to win a piece of jewelry donated by Brian Davis Jewellery.
