Jakob Chychrun is a finalist for a trio of Ontario Hockey League honours.
The 17-year-old Sarnia Sting is up for Rookie of the Year, Defenceman of the Year and Most Valuable Player.
The first overall pick in the league’s Priority Selection last April registered 16 goals and 17 assists in an injury-shortened regular season of just 42 games, including a team-leading eight powerplay goals.
He finished 11th in rookie scoring while playing between 20 and 25 fewer games that most other top scoring first year players in the league.
The awards will be announced sporadically during the league playoffs.
