Published on

A new event coming to Sarnia is using a helicopter to get above it all.

The first annual Charity Chopper Drop is a two-day golf event at which participants can win $10,000 in two different closest-to-the-pin contests. A helicopter will be used to drop golf balls at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club.

The $225 entry fee includes a Friday night gala reception on July 10 featuring former NHLers Rick Vaive, Dennis Maruk and Leafs broadcaster Joe Bowen.

The four-person scramble on Saturday, July 11 includes golf, lunch, entertainment and cocktails.

All proceeds go to the Chris Dawson Foundation and the Sarnia Prostate Clinic via the Bluewater Health Foundation.
