A successful “zero tolerance” policing strategy used at ‘The Cove’ in Canatara Park has been extended to Mike Weir Park in Bright’s Grove, Sarnia Police say.
The move follows complaints about large gatherings and youth parties at Mike Weir Beach over the Canada Day week. Tickets were issued and a “significant” amount of alcohol seized and disposed of on-scene, police said.
Youth were also spoken to about social distancing guidelines.
Increased patrols and targeted enforcement has reduced complaints about rowdy behaviour at The Cove, located at the west end of Canatara Beach.
