Bluewater Power posts big returns

Published on

Bluewater Power has turned over more than $2 million to Sarnia following a strong financial performance in 2014.

The money includes a regular dividend of $1.19 million and an unexpected special dividend of $860,000, the utility said last week.

The revenue comes from normal operations and a trio of business ventures Bluewater Power launched in recent years.

The payment to shareholders will not increase user rates, it said.

The Bluewater Power Distribution Corporation was incorporated in 2000 with the merger of hydro commissions in Sarnia, Petrolia, Warwick, Alvinston and Oil Springs.
