Two athletes from the Bluewater Boxing Club scored victories in Niagara Falls on Nov. 3.

Kaitlyn Clark had a split-decision win over Nikita Abbott of Brantford, the current Ontario Silver Gloves champion.

Clark used sharp counter punching attack and durability down the stretch to take her match.

It was the third time Clark had faced Abbott in the ring, and the third time she was victorious.

Nicole Drury also won at Rumble in the Falls III at the Scotiabank Convention Centre, which featured several members of Canada’s national boxing team.

Drury defeated hometown favourite Sarina Turko, an older, larger and more experienced fighter.

Using powerful and accurate jabs, Drury earned a standing-eight count from the referee who saw her opponent couldn’t keep pace.

Clark and Drury will join eight other Bluewater boxers at the Ontario Golden Gloves provincial championships set to begin Nov. 29 in Niagara Falls.
