A sold out event celebrating Black History Month was hosted by the Centre Communautaire Francophone de Sarnia over the weekend, highlighting the richness and diversity of Sarnia-Lambton’s Black community.

Some 100 people gathered at the centre, Saturday, for “A Walk through the African Diaspora,” featuring traditional African and Jamaican food, singing and dancing, art activities, and cultural displays.

Attendees commemorated the contributions of the African, Carribean and French cultures that make Ontario and Canada a diverse place to live.

A dance troupe from London performed, along with Vocalist Florine Ndimubandi, and a group of Lambton College students from Nigeria.
