Bird tests positive for West Nile virus

A dead crow found in Sarnia’s north-end last month has tested positive for West Nile virus. A mosquito pool in Petrolia also tested positive for the virus earlier in July. West Nile is spread to humans through mosquito bites.

West Nile is spread to humans through mosquito bites. Lambton Public Health advises residents to protect themselves by avoiding bites, reducing mosquito breeding areas, and reporting dead birds.
