Bethel’s family fun day on Saturday

As many as 3,000 people are expected to attend this weekend’s Family Fun Day at Bethel Church.

As many as 3,000 people are expected to attend this weekend’s Family Fun Day at Bethel Church.

The free annual event is open to all and includes inflatables, carnival games, pony rides and a barbecue, as well as Kira’s Enchanted Princess Party and performances by juggler and comedian Bob Cates.

“Two years ago we had 2,800 people and another 150 volunteers, said Pastor Tim Gibb.

“Last year, it poured rain and that wiped out some events, and we still had 1,600 people. It has become a big event.”

Family Fun Day is supported by 18 local sponsors and runs Saturday, Sept. 30, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Free parking is available at Hiawatha Horse Park, with shuttles running to and from the church.
