Sarnia Police collected almost 12,000 pounds of food at this year’s Cops for Cans event, the most successful ever.
Cans and boxes of non-perishable goods given to officers and volunteers at the Great Canadian Superstore and Walmart on Nov. 23 are destined for the Inn of the Good Shepherd to assist people in need.
This was the seventh annual event, to which local residents have now donated more than 50,000 pounds of food during the Christmas season.
