Sarnia has given tentative approval to a 95-lot subdivision on undeveloped land west of Modeland Road, between Michigan Avenue and Berger Road.
Council approved a number of zoning and planning changes earlier this month but stopped short of green-lighting the entire project.
Some studies and issues related to the subdivision’s overall design, as well as roads and pedestrian walkways, must still be worked out, city staff said.
The proposal calls for 95 single-family homes and a park on the 8.2-hectare (20-acre) site, all fronting onto new public rights-of-way.
Approval in principle will be considered at a later date after the outstanding issues are resolved.
