2023 Women of Excellence honoured

Five local women were celebrated for their contributions to the Sarnia-Lambton community in front of a packed house at the Dante Club, Thursday.

Five local women were celebrated for their contributions to the Sarnia-Lambton community in front of a packed house at the Dante Club, Thursday.

Mike Barron, executive director of The Sarnia Community Foundation, said the foundation honours the achievements of outstanding women every year for their commitment to improving the quality of life for local residents.

From left is Barron with the 2023 Women of Excellence recipients:

Michelle Holbrook, volunteer, trailblazer and executive director at Sarnia-Lambton Rebound;

Deanna Sandrin, local entrepreneur, role model, member of multiple boards and very active volunteer;

Madhu Baker, entrepreneur and advocate for mental health, trauma, addiction, and domestic violence;

Terry MacDonald, fundraiser, organizer and heavily involved in her community of Brooke-Alvinston;

and Kathy Bresett, life-long advocate for people and communities that face barriers and discrimination, as well as executive director of the North Lambton Community Health Centre.
