Two local gymnasts have been chosen to join Canada’s 2017-18 women’s artistic gymnastics national team.
Jovie Richardson and Rachel Riley, both of Sarnia’s Bluewater Gymnastics Club, were named to Canada’s Youth National Team last week.
“We are very excited about the future of gymnastics in Canada,” said Dave Brubaker, national team director for women’s artistic gymnastics at Gymnastics Canada, adding the “athlete pool is deeper than ever.”
Highlights on the Canadian artistic gymnastics calendar this year are the 2017 Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan in August and the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal in October.
