The streetscape of Vidal Street South has changed considerably in the 100 years since the photo at top was taken in the summer of 1915.

The streetcar is headed south on the Pere Marquette Line of the Sarnia Street Railway, which ended at a riverfront train depot in what’s now Imperial Oil.

And though many of the stately homes that made shady South Vidal a desirable residential area are gone, a few remain, including the Queen Anne-style tower house on the far left.
