A highly-regard forward from Czech Republic will play for the Sarnia Sting this season, the hockey club says.

Pavel Zacha, 17, has committed to playing in Canada with the hope of becoming a top NHL prospect, Sting general manager Nick Sinclair said in a statement.

The six-foot-three, 205-pounder has represented the Czech Republic extensively on the international stage, and played five games at the 2014 U-20 World Junior Hockey Championships.

Sarnia took Zacha number one overall in the CHL import draft.
