Sarnia Sting forward Jamieson Rees helped Canada win gold with the under-18 team at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky tournament in Edmonton.
Canada beat Sweden 6-2 in the gold medal game. Rees assisted on the fifth goal to finish the tournament with a goal and three assists in five games.
The Hamilton native scored in the semifinal against the United States, when Canada won in overtime after tying the game with less than a second to go.
Rees had five goals and fifteen assists in his rookie season with the Sting. The 17-year-old returns to Sarnia for training camp later this month.
