St. Pat’s wins “AAA” boys hockey championship

The boys team from St. Patrick’s High School won the Lambton-Kent “AAA” hockey championship. The Fighting Irish downed UCC High School of Chatham 4-3 in a thriller of a game played Feb. 28.

Lucas Knowles scored the sudden-death overtime winner with assists by Curtis Marks and Cam Pomerleau.

Zach Lessard, Kyle Blunt and Devon Devoght, on a critical third-period breakaway equalizer, also scored for St. Pat’s.

Bailey Reinders had a strong game in net.

The win advanced The Irish to the SWOSSA regional final against St. Anne in Windsor.
