The Sarnia-Lambton Sports Hall of Fame is looking for some new blood.

Specifically, the organization has put out a call for resumes from volunteers interested in serving on its board of directors. At the same time, it is welcoming suggestions from the public for possible inductees for the class of 2016.

Nominations are being accepted up until April 30 in the following categories:

1) Amateur athlete.

2) Professional athlete.

3) Special achievement. People inducted in this category have made significant contributions to sports beyond athletic endeavors, such as coaching, officiating, training or media work.

4) Bud Morrison award, which recognizes a person who has made significant contributions to youth in their sporting endeavors.

5) Earl MacKenzie award, which recognizes people involved in sports for at least 30 years.

6) Team: This usually goes to a club that has won a major championship or performed in an outstanding manner over a period of time.

7) Builder or executive. The individuals or organizations nominated must have contributed to the community in a significant manner related to sports and sports development. This could include the development, administration, officiating, on-going operations and/or the development of youth in a positive manner.
