SMAA boys’ baseball action

Mosquito Division In Mosquito Division action Tim Hortons won over LANXESS 7 - 4. Luke Fawdry started the game allowing only 1 hit while Peter Valdellon came into relieve allowing 1 hit as well.

In Mosquito Division action Tim Hortons won over LANXESS 7 - 4. Luke Fawdry started the game allowing only 1 hit while Peter Valdellon came into relieve allowing 1 hit as well. Aidan Ledgerwood and Valdellon each had hits for Tim Hortons

In another game Elks Lodge beat Tim Hortons 6 - 3.  Aidan Ledgerwood and Jacob Long had runs scored. Starting pitcher for Tim Hortons was Morgan Sopher and Peter Valdellon coming in to relieve.

In other action Tim Hortons came from behind to win the game 6-4 against ELKS Lodge with Luke Fawdry pitching and Aidan Ledgerwood back catching. Jacob Long and Mikanya Esangi both got base hit scoring runs!

In a rain ending game Tim Hortons and LANXESS tied 6 - 6. Pitchers for Tim Hortons were Morgan Sopher and Peter Valdellon. Aidan Smith and Aidan Ledgerwood shared the back catching duties. Ledgerwood, Valdellon and Luke Fawdry all scored single base hits for Tim Hortons.

Peewee Division

In Peewee Division action CUPE Local 4370 beat the Sarnia Firefighters 3-2 in a very tight game. Ray Hocking led CUPE with a triple and a single while Josh Henry, Garrett Kennedy, Dallas Henry and Shayak Ghosh all hit singles for the win. Ray Hocking, Travis Conrad and Dakota Shouldice shared the pitching duties.

The Firefighters sent four different pitchers to the mound over six innings. James Dunn, Dillon Timperley, Austin Russel and Kaven Rempel combined for twelve strikeouts, with Timperley recording five and Dunn notching 3 over their 2 innings each of work. Dunn and Russel recorded the only hits of the game for the Firefighters.

In other action CUPE Local 4370 and LEDHER environmental had a tight contest with CUPE coming away with a 5-4 win. Raymond Hocking had a double with Dylan Honsberger, Dakota Shouldice, Dallas Henry, Travis Conrad, Ryan Hurd, Garrett Kennedy and Shayak Ghosh all hitting singles. Eddy Zalewski, Hocking and Conrad each had a RBI. Hocking, Shouldice and Conrad shared the win with Shouldice closing out with 5 strikeouts.

The visiting Sarnia Firefighters were too much to handle for home-team Camlachie Cougars scoring a 26-2 win. Dillon Timperley  went 3 for 4 with two doubles and a triple while earning 4 RBI’s. Connor Phipps, Austin Russel and Ben Wilson had two hits each. The Firefighters had a total of 14 hits and 13 walks and stymied the Camlachie defense with 29 stolen bases.
