Three teams of cross country runners from Northern Collegiate advanced to the all-Ontario high school finals after a strong show at the SWOSSA championships in Windsor on Oct. 25.
Northern’s senior girls’ team finished first, with Bryar Fournie, Caroline Forbes, Lauren Perkins and Kaylee White finishing 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th.
Northern’s senior boys’ team advanced, thanks to a second place finish by Andrew Davies, while the school’s midget boys also moved on.
Other Sarnia-area runners who advanced individually include Sebastian Frenette of St. Patrick’s in midget boys, Blake Freer of Northern in junior boys, and Shailah Allen of Great Lakes in junior girls.
Alexander Mackenzie’s Craig Machan and Mathew Pastorious finished 1st and 2nd in the Men’s and Women’s Para 3K.
Massey of Windsor took overall team title with Northern finishing second.
