Sarnia Sting draft picks earn Junior B hardware

Two Sarnia Sting draft picks earned awards at the GOJHL Western Conference Awards Banquet recently, with Braden Henderson and Brendan Trottier each bringing home hardware.

Henderson, a Sting 6th round pick, was named most outstanding rookie defenceman in the league. Henderson played six games with the Sting this year, but manned the blue line for the Chatham Maroons for most of the season, posting 7 goals and 39 points in 39 games. He was also named to the All-Rookie Team for the GOJHL’s Western Conference.

Trottier, a 2013 11th round pick also earned recognition at the awards banquet after being named the conferences top scorer.

The former Lambton Jr. Sting forward collected 80 points in 49 games and also landed a spot on the First Team All-Stars list.
