This image shows the cities of Sarnia and Port Huron as seen from the International Space Station as it passed about 400 kilometres above the earth. It was taken by the station’s current commander, NASA astronaut Drew Feustel, a Michigan native with dual Canadian-U.S. citizenship. Sarnia and Point Edward are seen here above the St. Clair River and linked to Michigan via the Blue Water Bridge and highways 402 and 69. The dark area at right is the largely forested Aamjiwnaang First Nation. Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley received the image from retired Sarnia astronaut Chris Hadfield, a former space station commander who has a cottage on Stag Island. “Chris is always thinking of Sarnia-Lambton and asked that I share the picture,” Bradley said.
