Sarnia Braves end season with victory in Michigan

The Sarnia Braves won their third straight Michigan Cup on Sept. 17. Sarnia’s AAA baseball team claimed victory at the St. Clair Shores tournament with 6-5 win over Troy, Michigan.

Sarnia’s AAA baseball team claimed victory at the St. Clair Shores tournament with 6-5 win over Troy, Michigan.

Mike Damchuk was the winning pitcher with Mitch Lumley taking the mound in the 7th for the save. The game was tied at four heading into the 9th inning but a two-run RBI by Sarnia’s Justin Randall won it for the Braves, which finishing with a perfect 5-0 record.

Sarnia completed the 2017 baseball season with a record of 45-3 and the ‘Triple Crown’ of championships: the Lakeside Invitational, SouthWestern League and the Michigan Cup.
