The Sarnia Braves baseball club is in the midst of a win streak not even the last year’s Canadian Silver medalists could derail.

The AAA Braves punched out their 13th straight victory on June 11 by dominating the Strathroy Royals on the road, winning 17 – 2, then beating them again 6-5 at home three nights later to go 14-0 on the season.

The Braves were focused from the start as infielder Justin Randall connected with a solo shot in the top of the first inning of the road game. Randall was also a part of a rally in the fifth that saw a flurry of singles, extending the Braves lead to 5 - 0.

The Royals mustered a two-run home run late in the game but it was too little, too late as the Braves continued to batter the former Silver medalists.

Pitcher Mike Damchuk took the mound for the Braves, restricting the Royals to just four hits, and snagging seven ‘Ks’ on the night. The game also resulted in Damchuk surpassing 250 career strikeouts.
