The building supply centre opened in 1968 and was home to a tight-knit staff. In fact, 15 of the former employees got together to reminisce about old times at a reunion on March 25, said organizer Terry Hardy.

Cashway was purchased by Rona in 2000 and the store was eventually torn down in 2014.
