Funding for a splash pad and related facilities in Waterfront Park was part in a $3.6-million capital budget approved by Point Edward last week.

The village also OK’d the purchase of a new dump truck and dehumidification system for the Point Edward Area, and socked money away for a new fire rescue vehicle next year.

A $4.1-million operating budget passed by council will increase this year’s tax rate by 1.02%.

On a house assessed at $110,000, residents will pay $678 on the municipal portion of their tax bill, an increase of $7.

Final tax bills, adding in the Lambton County and education portions of the bill, will be mailed out in early June, the village said.
