It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald (Jerry) Morrison Smith on April 29th, 2024, at Bluewater Health at the age of 88. Predeceaced by his loving wife Mary Geraldine Smith. Loving father of Jody Nelson, Lenny Smith and Marsha McPhedran (Darryl). Grandfather to Andrew, Terri Lynn, Jody James, Crystal, Adam, Riley, Erin, Kristen, Nicole, Laura, Nathan and families. Also survived by several great grandchildren. Dear brother to Gloria Anderson of Toronto, Uncle to Lynn Pipher and Leigh York and families. Jerry retired from Imperial Oil and worked for several years after for United Taxi. He also enjoyed travelling yearly to Florida and Collingwood. Jerry was a collector and had a large stamp and coin collection. He was also an avid reader with a large collection of books. He enjoyed reading daily, working on puzzles, crossword and search a word. His mind was sharp until the end. Special thanks to his Caregiver Brenda Moss, whom he adored. Also to Sandy Hyland for the weekly visits, he appreciated them. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Jerrys wishes no services will be held. Special thanks to the loving care given by the Pallitive Care team at Bluewater Health. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to The Sarnia Humane Society or River City Vineyard (cheques only at the funeral home please).
