Playground equipment is on its way for an empty park in a new city subdivision.
Residents of Blackwell Glen managed to raise almost $21,000 from businesses, a barbecue and door-to-door donations, which will be matched by city hall.
They will work with city staff in choosing accessible structures for the new playground, which could open in late fall or early in 2015.
The park on Glen Abbey Drive services about 200 homes in the new neighbourhood, which is off Blackwell Side Road south of London Line.
