City Hall is spending $17,000 for additional passenger seating Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport. This month, Air Canada replaced its 18-seat Beechcraft aircraft with larger 37-passenger Dash-8 aircraft for flights in and out of Sarnia.

This month, Air Canada replaced its 18-seat Beechcraft aircraft with larger 37-passenger Dash-8 aircraft for flights in and out of Sarnia.

The airport’s passenger holding area was designed to accommodate 22 people.

In addition to the extra seats, the renovations include the repurposing of a storage area and reorganized security area.

Dash-8 flights began departing Sarnia at 9:20 a.m. and 6:35 p.m. on Nov. 1
