Sarnia’s Michael Marinaro and partner Kirsten Moore-Towers earned a silver medal at the 2019 ISU Four Continents figure skating championships.
The Canadian pair came within 0.06 points of taking gold at the meet held Feb. 5 – 10 in Anaheim, California.
They led the field after the short program but were edged out by the Chinese pair of Wenjing Sui and Cong Han, the Olympic silver medalists.
“We’ve definitely come a long way since November,” said Marinaro, 27.
“There was a big improvement in points but it’s too bad we let a couple get away from us. Lesson for the future that we need every point we can get.”
Cheng Peng and Yang Jin of China were third.
