Luncheon to mark anniversary of Goodwill Industries

The oldest Goodwill Industries in Canada is marking its 85th anniversary this year. To celebrate the occasion, the Essex Kent Lambton branch is hosting a President’s Luncheon on May 3 at the Sarnia Riding Club.

To celebrate the occasion, the Essex Kent Lambton branch is hosting a President’s Luncheon on May 3 at the Sarnia Riding Club.

Local, national and international dignities attending include speaker Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International in Washington, D.C.

The charitable organization was founded in Boston in 1902 as a way to offer people of limited employability training and rehabilitation.

The first Canadian branch opened in Sarnia in 1933 and began by providing food hampers to people in need.
