The Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track and Field Club had a banner day at the recent Simmons-Harvey Invitational event at the University of Michigan.
Building on the football success of her alma mater, former Ohio State Buckeye Maggie Mullen took first place in the women's weight throw with a toss of 18.83 metres.
Meantime, Jillian Drouin and Brittany Lewis took second place in the women's high jump and 800 metes respectively.
Drouin jumped 1.73 metres and Lewis crossed the finish line in a time of 2:11.53.
Tyler Annett also had a solid showing in the men's 60 metres.
He finished second in his preliminary heat and just missed advancing to the final with a time of 7.04 seconds in the semi-finals.
