Lions open second half

The Lambton Lions scored 20-plus points in all four quarters, including 29 points in the second quarter on their way to a 90-51 victory over Fanshawe in the second half opener for both teams in OCAA men's basketball.

Mike Lucier led the Lions, now 7-3, with 24 points, while Brandon Padgett added 21. Lucier and Shawn Hill both hauled down nine rebounds.

Lambton shot a whopping 54.1% from the floor.

The news was not as good for Dave Elsley and his Lady Lions in his coaching debut, however, as Lambton bowed 73-48 to Fanshawe.

The game was tied at 26 at halftime before the Falcons took control in the second half.

Paige Johnston led Lambton, now 4-6, with 13 points.

Newcomer Christine Fleischer played 22 minutes in her first game back with the Lady Lions. She had seven points, five rebounds and a blocked shot.

Lambton hosts Redeemer in a doubleheader this Saturday, January 23, at the Lion's Den.

The ladies tip off at 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3 p.m.
