Bible has answers to life’s questions

Sir: With regard to the letter that asked the question: “How would Jesus vote?”

According to the Book of John (18:36), Jesus did not get involved in political issues because His kingdom is not of this world. But He did have some things to say regarding moral values.

Abortion: (Luke 17:2) If a man were thrown into the sea with a huge rock tied to his neck, he would be better off than facing the punishment in store for those who harm these little children. These little children are seen by God who formed them before they were born (Psalms 139:13-15).

Homosexuality: (Romans 1:26-28) and will be judged by God. (1Corinthians 6:9 states that homosexuals will hot inherit the kingdom of God.

Jesus was against divorce, as was stated, and also against the accumulation of wealth without helping others in need.

With regard to the new sex-ed curriculum, Jesus commanded abstinence and purity before marriage – fornication is a sin – (Thessalonians 4:3), so I can agree with parents who have protested.

People in society say that Biblical values are irrelevant in today’s liberated and educated world, but statistics and facts prove that people who live according to these values are happier, have less problems and are living life with a purpose.

Yes, Jesus was a good example in showing kindness and mercy to all. But His main reason for coming to earth was to die on the cross in our place, so we could give up our selfish life and follow Him, and after this life we could live with Him in His new perfect Kingdom to come.
