Sarnia’s Raymond Knoll snapped this recent photo of a green heron at Lake Chipican.
It was the first sighting of the specie this year at the pond, which typically featuring four to six green herons, he said.
Other birds are missing or greatly reduced, with only one great egret and two blue herons reported so far this year, he said.
Water quality at Lake Chipican became a question mark after it emerge this spring an odd green colour.
