It’s official - Sarnia will be part of Rogers Hometown Hockey this season.

Host Ron McLean will be in our area on Saturday, Dec. 19 to tape segments for broadcast during the NHL game between Calgary and the Red Wings from Detroit the following night on Sportsnet.

Each of the 24 stops this season will feature NHL alumni, hometown heroes, local entertainment, and all new hockey stories.

"Each weekend is a uniquely Canadian experience that brings us all together," MacLean in a release. "Our mantra has been simple - take you someplace and tell a story. We've discovered at each stop a story that belongs to us as no other story could. It's of Canadians, with hockey at its core."

Retired Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield will be among the guests at the Sarnia event.
