A trio of ex-Point Edward Pacers have taken the next step in their respective lacrosse careers and will play in the Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior “A” loop this season.

Goaltender Brayden Bell and Cory Burr have both signed with Toronto Beaches, while Blain Adams is a member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves.

In fact, Adams scored the first goal of the season for the Braves last week in a 10-5 victory over Burlington in K-W’s season and home opener.  It was Adams' first career Junior “A” goal, after a 19-goal campaign with the Pacers last season.

Burr is playing in second season with Beaches after being selected by Toronto in the second round of the Junior “A” draft in 2014.  He scored four goals and added 10 assists in nine games as a rookie.

Meantime, Bell, who split the past two seasons between Point Edward and the Sarnia Pacers Midget squad, beat out five other hopefuls to become the second goalie with Beaches behind five-year veteran Michael Lalani.

The pair is coached by National Lacrosse League goaltender Angus Goodleaf.

“I'm looking forward to his guidance,” said Bell.

The threesome will compete against each other May 14 when Kitchener-Waterloo entertains Toronto.

The home opener for Beaches is Friday, May 22 against Whitby.
