City wins more Communities in Bloom awards

Sarnia had another strong showing at this year’s Communities in Bloom awards held Sept. 29 in Alberta.

Sarnia had another strong showing at this year’s Communities in Bloom awards held Sept. 29 in Alberta.

Competing in the Class of Champions (large) division the city was awarded the maximum ‘5 Blooms’ and a silver designation, meaning it had a score of 87% to 89.9%

Coquitlam, B.C. was also awarded 5 Blooms – silver but had a slightly better score than Sarnia to win the Class of Champions division.

The judges gave a special mention to Sarnia’s Veterans Park, which has been rejuvenated with new benches, veteran tributes, flowerbeds and new trees.

Communities in Bloom is a non-profit organization fostering civic pride through beautification.
