Sarnia is celebrating the sesquicentennial in song with two major choir performances planned.

First up is the Sarnia and District Community Choir with guests The Georgian Singers and Kaleidoscope, which will perform “Glorious and Free” on May 27 at the First Christian Reformed Church, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Strangway Centre or at the door, with proceeds to Wounded Warriors Canada.

Then, on June 24, a mass choir will celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday at Central United Church.

Comprised of singers from across the city, the choir will perform well-known songs from Canada’s past led by church organist and music director Robert W. Towers, and accompanied on organ and piano by Angus Sinclair.

Attendees are encouraged to show their pride by wearing red and white, or by bringing a flag.

For tickets call 519-344-4561.
