Candidate charged with sexual exploitation

A 43-year-old trustee candidate for the public school board has been charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a 16-year-old girl.

Glenn Aaron MacKinnon, of Sarnia, has ties to various community groups including Harmony for Youth, Point Edward Optimists and the annual summer Bridge Bash.

He is well known in the local music scene and is the lead singer of the band 3rd Wave.

MacKinnon, a former city council candidate, is currently seeking a set to represent Sarnia and Point Edward on the Lambton Kent District School Board.

He was charged with child sexual exploitation on Oct. 3, Sarnia Police said on Oct. 14.
